Family history

Ernest Baguley was born in 1894 at Nottingham, he was the son of (Joseph) Henry a coal miner hewer and Fanny Baguley née Lambert and the brother of Henry, Edith, Fred, James, John and Annie Baguley, of 16a Hyson Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham.

His father Henry was born in 1861 at Leicester, his mother Fanny Hesketh was born in 1872 at LondonIn they were married in 1891 they went on to have 9 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 10 Russell Place Hyson Green Nottingham Henry 50 yrs is a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Fanny 39 yrs and their 7 children including Ernest 17 yrs a pit bank lad.

Military history

Private Ernest Baguley enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was kiled in action on 30th April 1915, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial
