Matthew Adcock was the son of the late David Adcock and Annie Mary Tyler (formerly Adcock) née Baines of 4, Camomile Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham.

His father David was born in 1873 at Nottingham, he died in 1907 at Nottingham aged 34 yrs, his mother Mary Annie Baines was born in 1873 at Nottingham they were married in 1893 at Nottingham, they had 2 daughters, Lilly Adcock born 1901 and Annie Adcock born 1903.

His mother went to to remarry William Tyler born 1875 Nottingham, they went on to have a daughter Elsie Taylor born 1910 at Nottingham.

In 1911 they lived at 4 Camomile Street Hyson Green Nottingham William Tyler 36 yrs is a joiner he is living with his wife Annie Mary Tyler 38 yrs and their children, Matthew Adcock 16 yrs a printer, Lilly Adcock 9 yrs, Annie 8 yrs, Elsie Tyler 9 months

Military history

Acting Corporal Matthew Adcock, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 2/7th Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), he was killed in action on 5th June 1917 by German shell fire whilst serving in the trenches at Bilhem Farm, near Neuville, France. He is buried in Metz-en-Couture Communal Cemetery British Cemetery.
