Henry Carr Rasitrick was born in 1889 at Nottingham, he was the son of William Edward Raistrick a house furniture and Alice Ann Raistrick née Carr 12 Maples Street, Nottingham.
His father William Edward Raistrick, born in 1857 at Pudsey, Yorkshire and working as a draper and later as a house furnisher, his mother: Alice Ann Raistrick née Carr born in 1859 at Bradford they were married in 1887 at Bradford, his brother: Frank William, born in 1891 in Nottingham and working as a cabinet maker. his sister Edith Alice, born in 1894 in Nottingham.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 12 Maples Street, Nottingham, William Edward 54 yrs is a house furnisher, he is living with his wife Alice Ann 52 yrs and their children, Henry Carr 22 yrs a hosiery warehouse man, Frank William 20 yrs a cabinet maker and Edith Alice 17 yrs scholar.
Henry Carr Raistrick married Kate Moore (born 7th March 1890 ) in 1915 at Nottingham, lived at 34 Loughborough Avenue, Sneinton Dale, Nottingham.
Commencing 22nd April 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.
C.S.M. Raistrick enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment he showed some ability to rise through the ranks to become company sergeant major. 'B' Company went to France in 1917 and were later involved in the fighting during the Third Battle of Ypres. He was seriously wounded and taken to one of the four casualty clearing stations situated neart the village of Prove. He died on 8th October 1917 and was buried at Mendinghem Military Cemetery.
