Frederick Samuel Jeffery was born in Calverton in 1885 the son of Samuel a general farm labourer and Alice Jeffery née Parkin of Calverton
his father Samuel was born in 1856 at Calverton, his mother Alice Parkin was born in 1861 at MNormanton on Trent, they were married in 1884 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have 6 children, sadly 2 were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census the family lived at Crookdole Lane Calverton.
Frederick Samuel married Daisy Emma Roe (born 23rd August 1889) they were married in 1911 their marriage was recorded in the Baford registration district.
By 1911 Frederick was is in Calverton he is shown as being 26 yrs a gardener he is living with his wife Daisy Emma Jeffery 21 yrs of age.
They lived at Tap Builidngs, Calverton and had 2 children, Cyril Eric born 11th January 1915 and Winifred Mary born 16th August 1916.
Commencing 21st October 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week.
Private Frederick Samuel Jeffery enlisted in Nottingham, he served with the 1/5th battalion Sherwood Foresters he died on 31st March 1918 and is buried at Aix-Noulette Communal Cemetery Extension France.
