William Parsons was born in 1879 at Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire.
Eldest Son of : George Parsons, an agent for the Britannic Assurance Society and Elizabeth Parsons, née Newbutt of 85. Derbyshire Lane, Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire.
His Father, George Parsons was born in 1855 in Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire and his Mother, Elizabeth Newbutt was born in 1854 also in Hucknall Torkard, Notinghamshire, they were married in 1873 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District of Nottingham, they went on to have a further Son John Joseph, born in 1882 in Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire.
In the 1911 Census his Parents are living at 85 Derbyshire Lane, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire and are shown as George Parsons, aged 56 years, an Agent for the Britannic Assurance Society, he is livng with his wife Elizabeth Parsons, aged 57 years.
William Parsons married Carrie Stockley in 1910, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District of Nottingham.
They had the following children, Julia Elizabeth Parsons, born, 13th June 1911, George Everard Parsons, born, 20th July 1912, William Wesley Parsons, born 7th March 1914 and Gordon Leslie Parsons, born, 3rd May 1915.
In the 1911 census William and his wife Carrie are living at 18 Linby Grove, Hucknall and are shown as William Parsons, aged 32 years, a Coal Miner and Carrie Parsons, aged 29 years.
Following his death his Widow lived at 53, North St., Whitwick, Leicester, she was awarded a pension of 33 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 29th July 1918.
His Widow remarried and became Carrie Bishop.
His Brother, John Joseph Parsons died in May 1932, aged 50 years.
His Father, George Parsons died on the 14th February 1933, aged 78 years.
His Mother, Elizabeth Parsons died on the 26th March 1937, aged 84 years.
His Father, Mother and Brother are all buried in the Parsons Family grave in Hucknall Cemetery, Broomhill Road, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire on which Private, William Parsons is Commemorated.
Enlisted : Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Initially served with the Service Number, 17546 in the Sherwood Foresters, Notts. & Derby Regiment.
He was serving with the 11th Battalion, the Leicestershire Regiment when he died.
Died of wounds sustained at Cambrai : 20th December 1917.
Buried : Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

Personal Inscription reads : 2Greater Love Hath No Man".
