George Henry West married Clara Woodstock (born 4th September 1883) married 1905. they had 4 children: George Henry, born 1910, Doris May, born 1909, Florence born 1915 and Annie born 10th July 1917 shortly before her father's death in 1917. The family lived at Lime Kiln Place, Stockwell Gate, Mansfield.

In the 1911 census the family are living at New Street, Huthwaite, George Henry 28 yrs is a domestic groom, he is living with his wife Clara 27 yrs and their children, George Henry 4 months and Doris May 17 months.

Clara died in 1918 aged 35 yrs so left a very young orphaned family.

George Henry's pension record card shows that the childrens guardian was Sarah Jane Dove of Balby Doncaster a pension of 28 shillings and 9 pence was awarded on 22nd April 1918.
