Family history

Arthur Walker was born in 1881 at Lenton he was the son of the late Henry a lace maker and the late Frances Rebbacca Walker née Hewitt, of 5 Kyte Strret, Nottingham.

His father Henry was born in 1842 at Lenton he died in 1912 he was 69 yrs of age, his mother Frnces was born in 1843 at Stapleford she died in 1909 aged 66 yrs, they were married in 1862 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have 10 children. 

Arhtur was the husband of Hannah Trout, (born 4th September 1879) whom he married on 22nd February 1902 at St Matthias Church, Sneinton, Nottingham, they lived at 62 Hooton Street, Carlton Road, Nottingham, they had the following children, Arthur born 18th July 1902, , Albert Edward born 17th February 1905, Elsie born 22nd September 1908,Ernest born 21st September 1910, Thomas born 4th October 1912, George born 17th April 1915 and Leslie Walker born 9th October 1917.

In 1911 they lived at 29 Moodey Street Carlton Road Nottingham, Arthur Walker 30 yrs is a lace warehouse porter, he is living with his wife Hannah 31 yrs and their children, Arthur 8 yrs, Albert 6 yrs, Elsie 2 yrs and Ernest 6 months old. Commencing 18th March 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 36 shillings and 3 pence a week.

Military history

Private Arthur Walker enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 75545 in the Lincolnshire Regiment, he later served with the 13th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, he died of wounds on 1st September 1917, he is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery.
