Family history

Arthur Frederick Hough was born in 1889 at Melton Mowbray, he was the son of Fredrick a plasterer and Clara Jane Hough née Cornish and the brother of Herbert, ida, Rhoda and Galdys Hough of Brand Strret, Meadow Lane, Nottingham.

His father Frederick was born in 1871 at Stamford, Lincolnshire, his mother was born in 1869 at Walkhampton, Devon, they were married in 1894 at Stamford, Lincolnshire, they went on to have 5 children.

In the 1911 cenus the family lived at 11 Brand Street Meadow Lane Nottingham, Frederick 40 yrs is a plasterer, he is living with his wife Clara Jane 42 yrs and their children, Hubert 15 yrs, an assistant packer, Ida 14 yrs a pinafore machinist, Arthur 12 yrs a scholar, Rhoda 11 yrs and Gladys 8 yrs of age.

Military history

Private Arthur Frederick Hough enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 9th battalion Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 20th July 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated in Giavera Memorial, Italy
