Harold Oliver Chambers was born on 5th September 1894 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 26th September 1894 at St Nicholas Church, Nottingham, he was the son of Oliver Chambers a lace dyer and Sarah Ann Chambers née Mitchell of Crown Street, Nottingham.
His father Oliver was born in 1852 at Nottingham, his mother Sarah Ann Mitchell was born in 1857 at Nottingham, they were marriesd in 1874 at Nottingham.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 17 Orchard Street, Nottingham, Oliver 59 yrs is a lace dyer, he is living with his wife Sarah Ann 54 yrs a lace hand clipper and their son Oliver 16 yrs a machine printer.
Harold Oliver married Mabel Blatherwick (born 6th January 1895) in 1917 at Nottingham , they lived at 30 Crown Street Blue Bell Hill Nottingham.
Commencing 14th July 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
Private Harold Arthur Chambers enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 5th battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry he was killed in action on 3rd November 1918 and is buried at Romeries Communal Cemetery Extension, France
