Thomas Henry Walker was born on 16th December 1899 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 23rd January 1900 at St Bartholomews Church, Nottinham, he was the grandson of William and Sarah Ann Walker née Richards of 41 Henry Street, Sneinton, Nottingham.
His grandfather William was born 1865 at Litchfield, he died in 1917 at Nottingham, he was 52 yrs of age, his granmother Sarah Richards was born in 1863 at Nottingham, they were married on 23rd April 1882 at St Matthias Church, Sneinton, they had 7 children,
In 1911 he was living with grandparents William and Sarah Walker at 41 Henry Street Sneinton Nottingham his grandfather Wiiliam 66 yrs is a brick layers labourer, he is living with his wife Sarah Ann Walker 61 yrs and their son Arthur 16 yrs a furniture packer and grandson Thomas Walker 12 yrs of age.
Private Thomas Walker enlisted at Nottingham he served with the 15th battalion Sherwood Forester Regiment, he was Killed in action, 17th July 1916, whilst in the line South-East of Trones Wood, West of Maltz Horn Farm, France, being heavily bombarded by German tear gas and gas shells during the Battle of the Somme.

Nottingham Evening Post obituary (abridged) 27 April 1917: ‘Private T Walker, Sherwood Foresters, 41 Henry Street, Sneinton, killed in action July 17th, age 17.’
