Reginald Thompson was born in 1890 at Bridlington he was the son of John William a life assurance superintendent and Annie Thompson and the brother of Thomas Arthur and Sydney Thompson.
His father John William was born in 1858 at Caistor, Lincolnshire, he died in 1905 aged 59 yrs his mother Annie was born in 1857 at Driffield.

his mother was living in Mablethorpe Lincolnshire at the time of her son's death.
Rifleman Reginald Thompson, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 9th Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps. He landed in France on 21st May 1915, he died of appendicitis at the County of London Hospital, Epsom, on 11th June 1916. He is buried in Lenton (Holy Trinity) Churchyard.
