Family history
George Henry Simpkins was born in 1886 at Nottingham he was the son of George a coal carter and Eliza Annie Simpkins of 4 Smith's Yard Hoawrd Street Glasshouse Street Nottingham.
His father George was born in 1863 at Nottingham, his mother Eliza Annie was born in 1865 at Nottingham, in 1901 they lived at 45 Lea Street, Radford, Nottingham.
In the 1911 census George Henry Simpkins is living at 89 Station Road, Carlton, he is 26 yrs of age and is single and is a drayman, also at the address is Catherine Jones 27 yrs (born 1884 at Ashbourne, Derbyshire) she is a housekeeper, and an adopted son Albert Lowe 3 yrs of age.
His pension record cads shows that his house keepr Catherine Jones became his unmarried wife they lived at 5Dora Place, Elson Street, Nottingham. She was awarded a pension of 5 shillings a week commencing 29th May 1917.
