Family history

Henry Miller was born in 1891 at Nottingham he was the son of Mark Southern Miller a lace maker and Julia Miller née Taseland of Nottingham.

His father Mark Southern Miller was born i 1863 at Nottingham his mother Julia Taseland was also born in 1863 at Nottingham, they were married on 11th December 1881 in St Ann's, Nottingham, they had 2 further children, Flora born 1886 and Arthur born 1888.

Henry Miller was the husband of Elizabeth Buck (born 28th June 1889) they were married on 8th May 1909 at the Nottingham Emmanuel Church and had children, Leonard born 30th November 1912 and Edith Miller born 6th July 1915, the family lived at 50 Festus Street, Nottingham.

In 1911 they lived at 41, Festus Street, Sneinton, Nottingham.

Commencing 17th December 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 22 shillings and 11 pence a week.

Elizabeth married Harry Hibbs at Nottingham in 1918.

Military history

Gunner Henry Miller enlisted at Nottingham, he served with 4th Brigade Ammunition, Royal Field Artillery in Mesopotamia. He took part in the advance to Baghdad under General Maude, but died of dysentery. on 7th June 1917 (Nottingham Evening Post June 29, 1917). He was buried at Amara War Cemetery (X111. H. 2)
