Family history

Albert Edward Kind was born in 1896 at Nottingham, he was the son of Alfred a coal miner filler and Eva Jane Kind née Fowler and the brother of Ernest and Violet Kind.

His father Alfred was born in 1869 at Nottingham, his mother Eva Jane Fowler was born in 1864 at Chard, Somerset, they were married in 1894 at Nottingham, they went on to have 6 children, sadly 3 were to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census they lived at 11 Flewitt Street St Ann's Nottingham Alfred 42 yrs ais a coal miner filler, he is living with his wife Eva Jane 47 yrs and their children, Albert Edward 15 yrs a telephone distmantler, Ernest 14 trs and Violet 9 yrs of age.

Albert married Alice Thompson (born 1894) on 25th October 1915 at St George Church, Nottingham, they lived at 12 Bosworth Road, Meadows, Nottingham.

Military history

Private Albert Edward Kind enlisted at Birmingham, he served with the 18th battalion Lancashire Fusiliers he was killed in action on 22nd October 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cott memorial.
