Family history

Francis Henry Kenward was born in 1884 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late James Owen Kenward a draper born 1834 at Eastbourne and died in 1897 at Nottingham aged 63 yrs and his second wife the late Sarah Ann Dodosn (1850-1886)

Francis Henry Kenward married Elizabeth Kate Skill (born 10th January 1876 Derby) they were married in 1910 at Nottingham, they had a daughter Florence Kathleen born 12th May 1910

In the 1911 census the family lived at 3 Corn Street, Nottingham, Francis Henry 28 yrs is a journeyman tailor, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 33 yrs and their daughter Florence 10 months old.

They later lived at 7 Howard Street St Ann's Nottingham.

Commencing 2nd December 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and five pence a week.

Military history

Private Francis Henry Kenward enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action on 26th March 1918 and is buried at St Pierre Cemetery, Amiens, France.
