Aubrey George Jackson was born in 1893 at Luton, Bedfordshire, he was the son of the late George Jackson of Lenton Nottingham.
He was adopted by his aunt and uncle Edward a bricklayer and Annie Jackson née Flint of Nottingham.
In the 1911 census he lived with them and two cousins, George Jackson and Nellie Lake, at 4 Manning Street Woodborough Road Nottingham.
Aubrey George married Gertrude Allen (born 9th November 1893) in 1917 at Nottingham, they lived at 6 Glenn Terrace, Rupert Street, Meadows, Nottingham.
Commencing 6t May 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
Private Audbrey George Jacson enlisted at Nottingham, serving initially with the servcie number 35963 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he served with the 1/7th Bn The King's Liverpool Regiment when he was killed in action on 20th September 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
Nottingham Evening Post obituary (abridged) 15 October 1917: 'SLATER died of wounds October 7th, Private Aubrey Jackson, Liverpool Regiment, son of the late George Jackson, Lenton, adopted son of Mr and Mrs F Jackson, 4 Manning Street, Woodborough Road.'
