Arthur Harrison was born in 1890 at Nottingham, he was the son of Joseph a bricklayers labourer and Mary Harrison née Chambers and the brother of Thomas, Alice, Beatrice and Harry Harrison.
His father Joseph was born in 1850 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Chambers was born in 1858 also atNottingham, they were married on 3rd February 1873 at St Patricks Churhc, Nuthall, they went on to have17 children, sadly 5 died ininfancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 31 Lowdham Street and later 10 Pym Street (both St Ann's Nottingham). Joseph 61 yrs is a bricklayers labourer, he is living with his wife Mary 53 yrs and their 5 children including Arthur 21 yrs a general fruiter and drayman,
Arhtu Harrison married Male Henry (born 5th August 1879 ) on 21st April 1913 at St Matthias Church, Sneinton, Nottingham, they had 2 chidren, Joseph Arthur born 12th August 1913 and Sidney Harrison born 11th November 1916, they lived at 18 Guys Trerrace, Blue Bell Hill Road, Nottingham.
Commecing 26th August 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence aweek.
Mabel married Samuel Love in 1919 and they lived at 18 Guy's Terrace Blue Bell Hill St Ann's Nottingham.
Private Arthur Harrison enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number
25419 Royal Army Service Corps, later transferring to the 23rd battalion Manchester Regiment. Landing in France on 10th August 1914. He was accidentally killed on 1st February 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
