Family history

Harry Bosworth Fox was born in 1893 at Nottingham, he was the son of Agnes Annie Fox of Cecilia Terrace Peashill Road St Ann's Nottingham.

His mother Agnes Annie was born in 1865 at Breaston, she had further children, Leonard born 1890 and Sarah born 1896,

In the 1911 census Agnes Annie Bosworth 45 yrs is a swiss lace maker, she is boarding with her son Harry 18 yrs a leather belt maker at 5 St Cecilia Terrace, Peashill Road, Nottingham, they are boarding with Samuel Fox 71 yrs a retired lace maker and his daughter Sarah Fox 14 yrs a hosiery finisher.

The commonwealth war graves website shows , " Son of Sam and Agnes Fox, of Cecilia Terrace, Peashill Rd., Nottingham"

However no marriage can be found for Samuel Fox and Agnes Annie Bosworth's marriage.

Military history

Private Harry Bosowrth Fox enlisted at Nottinghamhe served with the 1/8th battalion and was attached to 139th Trench Mortar Bty. He was killed in action on 28th November 1917 and is buried at Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, France.

Extra information

His brother Leonard Bosworth enlisted at Nottingham on 5th September 1914 giving his age as 22 yrs and 286 days old, and landed in France on 29th July 1915. He was admitted to No 6 General Hospital after being kicked in the face by a horse suffering a fractured jaw. He and was returned to England on 24th October 1917 and died of pneumonia at Market Bosworth. He is buried in Ruddington Cemetery.
