Family history

George Fawcett was born on 20th February 1882 at Liverpool he was baptised on 1st November 1883 at Christ Church , Everton he was the son of the late William a labourer and the late Fanny Fawcett née Lea of Liverpool.

His father William was born in 1851 at Leitrim, Ireland, he died in 1911 aged 60 yrs, his mother Fanny Lea was born in 1852 at Liverool, she died in 1910 aged 58 yrs, they were married on 24th December 1872 at St Georges Church, Everton. they had two further children, William Henry born 1876 and John born 1879 both were born in Liverpool.

George married Gertrude Davidson ( born 17th November 1884) on 24th February 1906 at St Mark's Church Nottingham, they lived at 7 Enoch Terrace Nottingham they had a daughtrer Bertha born 23rd July 1908.

In the family 1911 they lived at 7 Enoch Terrace and later at 11 Nelson Terrace Hutchinson Street Nottingham George 30 yrs is a french polisher, he is living with his wife Fanny 26 yrs a cardboard box maker and their daughter Bertha 4 yrs of age.

Military history

Lance Corporal George Fawcett enlisted and served with the 1/5th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he died on 28th December 1919 age 38. He is buried: Nottingham General Cemetery, United Kingdom.
