Frank Edward Hourd was born in 1892 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 26th March 1905 at St Georges Church, Netherfield, Nottingham, he was the son of Laurence Edward Hourd a hosiery hand and the late Emma Jane Hourd née Wadsworth and the brother of John William, Lawrence, Lilian Frances, Robert, Hilda May, Ivy, Winifred Daisy and Charles Hourd of 27 Westwood Road Sneinton Nottingham.

His father was born in 1868 at Nottingham, his mother Emma Jane Wadsworth was born in 1869 at Sneinton, Nottingham, she died in 1909 aged 40 yrs, they were married on 1st August 1891 at St Georges Church, Netherfield, Nottingham. they went on to have 10 children.

Military history

Pte. Frank Edward Hourd (shown on medal rolls as Howard) enlisted and served with the 9th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, he went to Gallipoli on 2nd August1915, he died of wounds on 19th August 1915, he is commemorated on the Helles Memorial.

CWGC is investigating but the family is listed as Hourd on the 1911 Census.
