Family history

Frederick Saunderson was born in 1896 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late of Tom and Harriet Saunderson née Arnold of Sneinton Nottingham, and the brother of Arthur Robert born 1882 and Edith born 1890.

His father Tom was born in 1857 at Sutton on Trent, he died in 1895 aged 38 yrs, his mother Harriett Arnold was born in 1855 at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, they were married on 28th September 1888 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, Nottingham, they went on to have 3 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 22 Westwood Road Colwick Road Sneinton Nottingham,
Harriett a widow is 56 yrs of age, she is living with her children, Arthur 28 yrs a cardboard box cutter, Fred 15 yrs a shop assistant and her daughter in law Cissie 26 yrs and her grandaughter Edith 3 yrs of age and Arthur J 11 months old.

Military history

Private Frederick Saunderson enlisted at Reading whilst residing at Sneinton, Nottingham, he served with the 6th Bn Royal Berkshire Regiment, he died of wounds on 18th August 1917 and is buried at Brandhoek New Military Cemetery No.3, France
