William Thomas Robinson (junior)was born in 1886 at Nottingham, he was the son of William Thomas Robinson (senior) a baker and confectioner and Suan Frances Robinson née Simpson.
His father William Thomas (senior) was born in 1864 at Winterton, Lincolnshire, his mother Susan Frances Simpson was born in 1864 at Edinburgh they were married on 9th April 1885 at Christ Church, Radford, they went on to have 10 children, sadly 4 were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at 11 illy Street, Dame Agnes Street, Nottingham, William Thomas 46 yrs is a baker and confectioner, he is living with his wife Susan 46 yrs and their children, Alfred 17 yrs a photographers clerk, Leonard 15yrs a bakers carter, May 13 yrs and George 7 yrs of age.
William Thomas Robinson (junior) married Mabel Brown (born 28th March 1887) ) on 23rd September 1909 at St Ann's Nottingham they lived at 20 St Stephens Road, Nottingham, they had a son Arthur William Robinson born 12th May 1912.
In 1911 they lived at 6 Hardstaff Road Sneinton Nottingham before moving to 24 Kimberley Street, Nottingham (Evening Post, October 9, 1917) He was the father of Arthur Robinson.
Commencing 1st April 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.
Mabel married Herbert Harding in 1923 and they lived at 24 Sedgley Avenue Sneinton Dale Nottingham.
Gunner William Thomas Robinson, served with the 244th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery, he was killed in action on 13th September 1917 he is buried in Artillery Wood Cemetery.
In memoriam published 13th September 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :-
“ROBINSON. – In loving memory of my dear husband, Gnr. W. T. Robinson, R.G.A., who was killed in action Sept. 13th, 1917. God will link the broken chain closer when we meet again. – From his loving and little sonny.”
