Family history

Frank Pacey was born in 1874 at Donningon Road, Lincoln, he was the son of William Pacey a printer compositor and Sarah Pacey née Smith of Lincolnshire.

His father William was born in 1831 at Boston, Lincolnshire, his mother Sarah Smith was born in 1844 at Donnington, Lincolnshire,they were married in 1865 their marriage was recorded in the Spalding registration district, they had 7 children.

Frank Pacey married Susannah Edis born 22nd February 1876, they were married in 1895 at Leicester they lived at 1 Regent Hill Carlton Road Nottingham they had 2 children, Rhoda Gwendoline born 17th February 1906 and Mabel May born 13th April 1913.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 18 Hermitt Street, Sneinton, Frank 37 yrs is a machine fitters labourer on the Great Northern railway, he is living with his wife Sussannah 36 yrs a lace hand and their daughters Elizabeth 13 yrs and Rhoda Gwendoline 5 yrs old.

Commencing 28th May 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 22 shillings and 11 pence a week.

Military history

Private Frank Pacey enlisted at Nottingham, whilst residing at Sneinton, he served with the 17th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd September 1915, he is buried at Bouzincourt Ridge Cemetery Albert
