Henry Lennox was born in 1881 at Nottingham, he was the son of Thomas a plasterer and Mary Lennox née Clay of 14 Swanwick Street, Nottingham.
His father Thomas was born in 1853 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Clay was born in 1852 at Nottingham, they were married on 24th December 1878 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, Nottingham. they had a further child Elizabeth born 1885.
In the 1911 census his parents are living at 14 Swanwick Street, Nottingham, Thomas 58 yrs is a plasterer he is living with his wife Mary 59 yrs and their daughter Elizabeth 26 yrs a jennier also living with them is a granddaughter Mary Margaret 3 motnhs old.
Henry was the husband of Florence Swift (born 8th January 1883) they were married on 4th April 1902 at St Ann's, Nottingham, they had children, Thomas Henry born 8th October 1902, Hilda born 25th November 1907, Florence born 25th August 1909, Arthur born 31st July 1912 and Lydia Lennox.born 29th anuary 1915.
In 1911 they lived at 14 Finch Street Nottingham.Henry 29 yrs is a plasterer he is living with his wife Florence 30 yrs and their children, Thomas 8 yrs and Hilda 3 yrs and Florence 2 years old.
His widow was awarded a pension of 24 shillings and 6 pence a week commencing 24th February 1917.
Florence married Herbert Chester in 1920 and they lived at 45 Cross Street Nottingham.
Private Henry Lennox enlisted at Nottingham he served with the 12th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 15th August 1916, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial,
