Family history

Harry Wilson Kemp was born on 1st September 1901 at Sneinton, Nottingham, he was the son of John Kemp a publican and brewer and Annie Kemp née Harrison of 13 Beaumont Street, Sneinton, Nottingham.

His father John was born in 1859 at Flintham, his mother Annie Harrison was born in 1861 at Breedon on the Hill, they were married on 28th September 1889 at Holy Trinity Church, Nottingham, they had six children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.

He was the brother of : Nellie Kemp : John Kemp : Albert Kemp and Arthur Kemp.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 11. Hampden Place, Nottingham John 52 yrs is a publican brewer, he is living with his wife Annie 50 yrs and their children, Nellie 19 yrs a lace mender, John 16 yrs a milk lad, Albert 12 yrs a scholar, Harry 9 yrs a scholar and Arthur 7 yrs of age.

Military history

Air Mechanic 2nd class Harry Wilson Kemp served with the Royal Air Force Air Base Howden, according to his CWGC Record. he died on 6th February 1921 of pneumonia in the East Riding of Yorkshire on 19th February 1921, he iis buried at The Nottingham General Cemetry. Grave Reference : 04705 : Stone : 16.
