Family history

Ernest Albert Inger was born in 1887 at Nottingham, he was the son of Charles a drayman and Ellen Inger née Rose and the brother of Mary and Arthur Inger.

His father Charles was born in 1866 at Nottingham, his mother Ellen Inger née Rose was born in 1863 at Nottingham, they were married on 3rd September 1887 at St Lukes Church, Nottingham, they had 4 children sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 13 North Street Sneinton Nottingham, Charles 45 yrs is a drayman, he is living with his wife Ellen 48 yrs and their children, Mary 6 yrs of age, Arthur 15 yrs, Ernest 24 yrs an assistant tailor and Lewis 8 months of age.

Ernest Albert was the husband of of Amy Martin whom he maried on 3rd February 1913 at St Albans Church, Sneinton, the had children, Dorothea born 15th April 1913 and Norman born 1916 died in 1918 .

Commencing 24th March 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Military history

Private Ernest Albert Inger enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1st Garrison B Yorkshire Regiment, he died on 17th September 1918 in India. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Karachi 1914-1918 War Memorial
