Family history

Percy Dalton was born in 1890 at Nottingham, he was the son of George a lace worker and Elizabeth Dalton née Martin of 25 Walker Street, Nottingham.

His father George was born in 1853 at Nottingham his mother Elizabeth Martin was born in 1857 at Arnold, they were married in 1873 att Radofrd, they went on to have 4 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 25 Walker Street Nottingham. George 58 yrs is a dyer, he is head of the family and married, he is living with his children, Ethel Daisy 24 yrs a machinist and Percy 21 yrs a palsterer.

Percy was the husband of Mabel Redgard (born 10th October 1890) whom he married on 26th December 1914 at St Albans Church, Sneinton, Nottingham and the father of George Denton. they lived at 8 Victoria Place, Walker Street, Sneinton, Nottingham,

commencing 31st March 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Mabel married Horace Searcey in 1919 and they lived in Hawksworth Terrace Hawksworth Street Nottingham.

Military history

Driver Percy Denton enlisted at Nottingham, he served with 'B' Bty 110th brigade, Royal Field Artillery, he was killed in action on 30th August 1918 he is buried at Delville Wood Cemetery Longueval
