(Served As Furgerson). Percy John Brentnall was born on 9th July 1901 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 27th September 1903 at St Bartholomews Church, Nottingham, he was the son of John Percy a lace curtain dresser and Lois Shelton of 15 St Matthias Road Nottingham.

His father John Percy was born in 1876 at Nottingham, his mother Lois Shelton was born in 1876 at Old Whittington, Chesterfield, they were married in 1897 at Nottingham, they went on to have 7 children.

In the 1911 census the family were livingat 25 Hogarth Strret, Nottingham, John Percy 35 yrs is a lace curtain dresser, he is living with his wife Lois 35 yrs and their children, Gladys 11 yrs a scholar, Percy 9 yrs a scholar, Elsie 7 yrs a scholar, George 4 yrs and Dorothy 2 yrs of age.

Military history

John Percy Brentnall served as Ferguson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion Highland Light Infantry, he died on 23rd September 1919 and is buried in Russia, his name is commemorated on the Archangel Memorial, Russia.
