Family history

Mark Bradbury was born in 1875 at Nottingham he was the son of William a frame work knitter and Emma Bradbury née Hickling of Nottingham.

His father William was born in 1856 and his mother Emma Hickling was born in 1857 both were born in Shepshed, Leicestershire, they were married on 5th October 1874 at Shepshed, they had 3 children, Mark b1875 and William born 1879 a further child died in infancy.

He was the husband of Lucy Applegate (born 10th December 1865 Nottingham ) they were married on 25th October 1896 at St Lukes Church, Nottingham and the father of Grace born 16th January 1897 Claude born 10th March 1898 and Harry Bradbury, born 23rd September 1901 they lived at 45 Virginia Street Sneinton Nottingham.

Commencing 25th February 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week.

Military history

Private Mark Bradbury enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 406th Mechanical Transport Coy Army Service Corps attd. II. Corps Heavy Artillery. He was killed in action on 19th August 1917 and is buried at Reninghelst New Military Cemetery, Belgium.

his brother Driver William Bradbury enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 188th brigade Royal Field Artillery, he was killed in action on 5th December 1917 he is buried at Hermies Hill British Cemetery, France.
