Henry Aldridge was born in 1875 at Nottingham, he was the son of Mary Aldridge and the brother of Kate (later Warron) Aldridge.
His mother Mary was born in 1858 at Ilkeston.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 6 Paradise Row Coal Pit Lane Nottingham, Mary Aldridge 53 yrs is a widow she is living with her son Henry 35 yrs a railway navy and her married daughter Kate Warren 32 yrs,
Sergeant Henry Aldridge enlisted at Nottingham, he served in the Tirah 1897-8 and South African Campaigns.
He served with the 2nd battalion Northamptonshire regiment serving formerley with service number 6155 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he landed in France on 13th July 1915 and was killed in action on 8th October 1916, he is buried at Vermelles British Cemetery
