Family history

Cecil Taylor Allott was born in 1895 at COllingham, he was the adopted son of George and Pollie Pilsworth.

His foster father George Pilsworth was born in 1867 at Newark, his foster mother Pollie Pilsworth was born in 1866 at Sutton, they were married in 1888 they had 3 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or ealy childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 23 Lowdham Street Nottingham, George 44 yrs is a drayman for a fish salesman, he is living with hos wfoe Polliee 45 yrs and their adopted son Cecil Allott 14 yrs an apprentice cabinet maker.

Military history

Private Cecil Taylor Allott enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 87956 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, later transferring to the 33rd battalion Machine Gun Corps, he died of wounds at the 3rd Canadian General Hospital, he is buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery
