Family history

Edgar Fell Bonney was born on 26th Janauary 1892 at Manchester he was the son of the late Thomas Fell a cyle dealer and the late Rosannah Bonney née Harper and the brother of Ethel Bonney of Nottingham.

His father Thomas Fell Bonney was born in 1859 at Halington, Lancaster, he died in 1913 at Nottingham, he was 54 yrs old, his mother Rosannah Harper was born in 1863 at Madeley, Shropshire, she died in 1914 at Nottingham she was 51 yrs old, they were married in 1894 at Hull, East Yorkshire, they went on to have 7 children, sadly 5 were to die in infancy or earley childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 285 Ilkeston Road, Nottingham, Thomas Fell Bonney 52 yrs is a cyle dealer he is living with his wife Rosannah 47 yrs and their children, Ethel 22 yrs a drapers assistant and Edgar Fell 18 yrs a butchers assistant.

He was the husband of Dorothy (née Skinner) Bonney whom he married in 1915 at Nottingham, they lived at 9 Hawksworth Road West Bridgford Nottingham.

Commencing 7th October 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military history

Private Edgar Fell Bonney enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 53963 in the East Yorkshire Regiment, he later transferred to the 15th battalion Durham Light Infantry, he died of wounds on 30th March 1918, he is buried at St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France
