Harry Cox was born in 1899 at Nottingham he was the son of Harry Brewster Cox a brickworks labourer and Alice Ellen Cox (née Page) of 2, Sedgeley Avenue, Sneinton Dale, Nottingham.

His father Harry snr was born in 1874 in Derbyshire, his mother Alice Ellen Page in 1879 at Clophill, Bedfordshire. They were married on 18th September 1898 at Toddington and had a further child, Alice Mabel, born in 1907 at Nottingham

In 1911, they lived at 34a, Dawson Street, Nottingham.

Military history

Harry Cox enlisted at Nottingham, initially serving (88500) with the Sherwood Foresters. He died at Vervins, Picardi, France of influenza whilst a prisoner of war. He is buried at Grand- Serau Court British CemeterY, France, Grave Reference: VII D.1
