Douglas Braund Kent was born in Plumstead and baptised on 28th October 1880 at St Margarets Church, Plumstead, London, he was the son of Richard Horace Couch Kent (Barrister-at-Law), and Elizabeth Hern Kent née Braund
His father Richard Horace Kent was born in 1855 at Deptford, Kent, his mother Elizabeth Hearn Braund was born in 1855 at London, they were married on 15th May 1875 at Woolwich, London, they had 7 children.
Douglas was the husband of Dorothy Kent (nee Brend),(born 14th July 1874 London) of 6, Argyle Rd., Kensington, London they had a daughter Dorothy born 18th August 1905
Commencing 27th March 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 17 shilings and 6 pence a week.
Lance Corporal Douglas Braund Kent enlisted at Camberwell, he served with the 15th battalion London Regiment, he died of wounds on 9th September 1915 and is in Chocques Military Cemetery
