Charles Reginald Laud was born in 1894 at Brackley, Northampton, he was baptised on 1st July 1894 at Brackley, Northampton, he was the only son of Charles Henry a domestic gardener and Harriet Laud née Collins,

His father Charles Henry was born in 1861 at Faldingworth, Lincolnshire, his mother Harriett Collins was born in 1864 at Greetham, Rutland, they were married on 28th May 1850 at Brackely,

In the 1911 census the family are living at Aubourn Lincoln. Charles Henry 50 yrs is a domestic gardener, he is living with his wife Harriett 47 yrs and their son Charles Reginald Laud 16 yrs a farm labourer.

Military history

Private Charles Reginald Laud enlisted at Worksop whilst residing at Welbourne, Lincolnshire. he is intially served with the service number 33729 in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) he was killed in action on 24th December 1916 he is buried at Bellacourt Military Cemetery Riviere Pas de Calais France.
