Josiah Blythe was born in 1889 the son of William (born 1864 Coventry) a coal miner hewer and Ellen Blythe née Firth (born 1871 Hucknall)
Josiah married Mary Elizabeth Radford in 1914 at Mansfield. they lived at 15, Union St., Sutton-In-Ashfield, Notts.
Military History
Lance Sergeant Josiah Blythe enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he went to France 29th June 1915 and was killed in action, 12th September 1917, by German shellfire whilst in the line near Cambrin, France. Buried/Commemorated Loos Memorial, France. Panel 87 to 89.
