Alfred Clements

Alfred Clements was born in 1889 at Nottingham, he was the of John Thomas a florist and Amelia Clements née Clark of Park Road, Lenton.

His father John Thomas was born i 1857 at Watford, Herfordshire, his mother Amelia Clark was born in 1851 at Sheffield, they were married in 1881 at Eccleshall Bierlow, Yorkshire, they went on to have 8 children sadly 3 were to die in infancy or earley childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 48 Park Road New Lenton Nottingham John Thoams 54 yrs a florist is living with his wife Amelia 58 yrs and their children, Thomas 27 yrs a clerk in a lace warehouse, Amelia 23 yrs a jewelers book keeper, Alfred 21 yrs a clerk in a lace warehouse,and Mary Louisa 12 yrs a scholar.

Alfred married Mabel Edith Riley (born 10th August 1891 ) they were married on 14th October 1911 at Lenton Priory Church, they lived at 6 Gorve Road, Lenton, they had 2 children, Thomas born 29th March 1912 and Irene born 20th March 1914, both were born in Nottingham.

Commencing 12th May 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week.
