Harry was born in 1897 in Calverton,he was the son of John Livingstone a frame work knitter and Rebecca Wright néé Beardall of Calverton.
His father John Livingstone was born in 1869 at Calverton, is mother Rebecca Beardall was born in 1869 also at Calverton, they were married on 7th June 1892 at St Wilfrids Church Calverton, they went on to have 6 children sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census he is shown as being 14 yrs a farm hand the son of John Livingstone 42 yrs a farme work knittter he is living with his wife Rebecca 42 yrs and his siblings Joseph Francis 18 yrs a hosiery factory hand, Florence Ann 17 yrs a hosiery hand,Nellie 13 yrs a hosiery hand and James 11 yrs a scholar, . they are all living at Foxwood Terrace, Calverton.
Harry enlisted in Mansfield into the Sherwood Foresters and on his enlistment is living in Sneinton, Nottingham. He was killed in action France & Flanders. He first served in 9th battalion with number 5561 (TF) and was with them on Gallipoli. At some point he was posted to 1/8th battalion and was listed as missing on 30 August 1917, later as killed in action. The war diary for the 1/8th battalion for the 30th has - Cambrin - 30 August 1917 - '2/Lt D TANNER and 1 NCO and 2 men went out on patrol to examine the enemy wire, the 2 men returned but unfortunately the officer and NCO are missing' The NCO was Harry Wright. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
