Percy was born in 1886 in Calverton,the son of the late Henry a frame work knitter and the late Harriet Bardill née Caunt of Calverton
His father Henry was born in 1844 at Calverton he died in 1911 at Calverton he was 67 yrs old, his mother Harriett Caunt was born in 1850 at Calverton, she died in 1911 at Calverton she was 61 yrs old, they were married in 1866 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration distirct, they had 10 children, sadly two were to die in infancy oe early childhood.
In the 1911 census his parents and siblings are living in Calverton, Henry 67 s is a frame work knitter, he is living with his wife Harriett 61 yrs and their children, Archibald 22 yrs a factory hand, and their married daughter Annie Anthony 30 yrs and her husband Alfred Anthony 29 yrs and their two children.
Percy married Mable Annie Meads born 5th November 1883 he resided on the Avenue at Calverton and was a hosiery worker. they were married on 17th March 1906 at St Wilfrids Church, Calverton.
In the 1911 census he is living there with his wife Mabel Annie born 1894 he had 5 children Sarah Doris born 29th November 1903, Ida born 24th April 1906 James born 6th November 1908, Jack born 10th March 1911 and Robert born 3rd October 1915,
Commencing 28th May 1917 his wiodw was awarded a pension of 31 shillings and 3 pence a week.
Private Percy Bardill enlisted in Sutton in Ashfield into the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, in the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
