Family History
He was the son of George and Mary Ann Marriott and the brother of Charles Frederick and Eliza Marriott. In 1891 they lived at Riddings Derbyshire and in 1911 on Eastfield Side Sutton in Ashfield.
Military History
Frederick Marriott served with the battalion on Gallipoli and in Egypt. He moved to France with them on 1st July 1916 and to the Arras sector. After the battalion had become accustomed to trench warfare, they moved to the Somme. Frederick was wounded during the Battle of Thiepval and moved to the Casualty Clearing Station at Puchevillers but sadly died of his wounds. He was buried in the cemetery next to the CCS, grave V. C. 19
