Family history
Edgar Marshall was born in 1886 at Newark, he was the son of the late William Thomas Marshall and Emily Marshall née Young, of Newark.
His father William Thomas Marshal a painter was born in 1852 at Newark, he died in 1908 aged 56 yrs, his mother Emily Young was born in 1850, she died in 1900 aged 50 yrs, they were married in 1871 at Newark, they went on to have 10 children.
He was the brother of Mrs Bailey of 109 Bowbridge Road Newark.
Military history
Gunner Edgar Marshall enlisted at Newark and served with the 186th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, he was killed in action on 15th October 1917 and is buried at White House Cemetery, St. Jean-les-Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
