Family history

Harold was born in Branston, Lincolnshire and was the son of James a farm foreman and Mary Green, of Ivy Cottage, Kettlethorpe, Saxilby, Lincoln. James and Mary had 4 children , George, Albert, Harold, and Doris Mary. In both the 1901 and 1911 census the family are living at The Cliff, Welton, Lincolnshire.

Military history

Private Harld Grren enlisted at Retford, he served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 25th April 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial
