Family history

Harry Fox was born in 1879 at Sutton In Ashfield, he was the son of William a grocer and Susannah Fox.

His father was born in 1857 at Toddington, Bedfordshire, his mother Susannah was born in 1857 at Sheffield

He was the husband of Ada Haslam (born 14th April 1881) whom he married in 1903 at Mansfield, they lived at 288 Mansfield Road, Sutton in Ashfield, the had the following children, Susannah born 10th July 1903, Nellie born 9th April 1905, Kate born 28th February 1907, May born 24th January 1909, Harry born 2nd April 1911 and Ada Fox born 23rd March 1913.

Commencing 4th June 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 33 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military history

Private Harry Fox enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield, he served with the 25th battalion Durham Light Infantry, he died on 2nd December 1916 of pneumonia at Cottage Hospital, Morecambe, and is buried at Torrisholme Cemetery, Lancashire.
