Family history

James Nicholson was born C1867 at Liverpool, he married Eliza Morris (born 8th October 1866) in 1885 at Bolton, they had 9 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood

In the 1911 census the family are living at 217 Settle Street, Bolton, James is (sic) 60 yrs of age, he is living with his wife Eliza 44 yrs and six of their children.

His pension record card shows two children, Elizabeth Alice 18th November 1902 and John born 21st February 1906, the family are living at 217 Settle Street, Great Lever Bolton.

Commencing 16th October 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 23 shillings and 6 pence a week.

Military history

Private James Nicholson died on 31st of March 1916 of pneumonia, he is buried in Kirk Patrick (Holy Trinity) Churchyard , Isle of Man (grave ref. 3M).
