Arthur Richardson was born in 1898 at Nottingham, he was the son of John Arthur a tobacco manufacturers clerk, and Elizabeth Richardson née Deacon of Ashworth Crescent, Mapperley, Nottingham and the brother of Dorothy, Margaret, John, Winifred and Kathleen Richardson.
His father John Arthur was born in 1875 at Nottingham, his mother Elizabeth Deacon was born in 1877 at Nottinghsam they were married in 1897 at Nottingham they went on to have 6 children.
In 1911, they lived at 106, Egypt Road, Basford, Nottingham. John Arthur 36 yrs a tobacco manufactuerers clerk, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 34 yrs, they are living with their children, Arthur 13 yrs, Dorothy 10 yrs, Margaret 8 yrs, John 6 yrs, Winifred 4 yrs and Kathleen 2 years of age.
Private Arthur Richardson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 17th battalion, Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 27th September 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Panel 99 to 102
