Albert Eyre wasa born in 1889 at Nottingham, he was the son of Hosea a lace maker and Elizabeth Eyre née Greasley and the brother of Edith, Ernest, Edwin, Kate, Ethel, Mabel and Arthur Eyre.
His father Hosea was born in 1867 at Stapleford, his mother Elizabeth Greasley was born in 1865 at Draycott, they were married in 1883 at Nottingham, they went on to have 10 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 71 Norton Street Radford Nottingham Hosea 49 yrs is a lace maker, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 46 yrs and their 9 children including Albert 22 yrs working in the tabacco trade.
Albert married Lillian Eliza Flack (born 20th January 1890) they were married on 21st October 1916 at St Martins of the Field, Bilborough.
He was the husband of Lilian Eliza (née Flack) Eyre who later lived at Bilborough Nottingham.
Commencing 25th Febrauary 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
Private Albert Eyre, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 9th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. He landed in France on 15th July 1915 and was killed in action on 5th June 1917. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
