
Gilbert Henry Salmon
He was a pupil at Shoreham College in 1904 and attended St Cuthbert's College Sparken Hill Worksop in 1906. He became a member of St Edmund's Hall Oxford.

Gilbert was born in 1893 the son of Ernest Frederick a pharmaceutical chemist and Edith Salmon, (née Bowler) of Hempnall House Southwick Sussex. He was the brother of Edith Maria Salmon. In 1901 and 1911 the family was living at 28 Victoria Road Shoreham. Gilbert married Suzanne Marie Carton, who following his death re married and became Suzanne North and lived at Cheltenham Gloucestershire.
Gilbert was gazetted second lieutenant on 3rd February 1917 into the Hampshire Regiment. He was later promoted to captain and died on 28th August 1920 while serving with the 1/5th Devonshire Regiment in Baghdad Iraq. He is buried in Baghdad North Gate War Cemetery Baghdad Iraq.
