Family History
William was the son of William Webster Peacock a silk merchant and draper and Eliza Peacock (née Cutforth ) William and Eliza had 10 children. In 1901 the family were living at St Sepulcher Gate Doncaster. By 1911 the family lived at 32 Queens Road Doncaster. In addition to William, three of his siblings were also still at the address - Winifred, Norah and Algenon.
Military History
William at first enlisted and served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry becoming a Sergeant with service number 18326. He was Gazetted as Lieutenant on 11th February 1915. He then transferred to the Royal Engineers and served with the 224th Field Company.
