Lachlan was the son of Allan, a managing director of a brewery and Annie Morrison of 452, Glossop Road Sheffield. Allan and Anne had four children , Lachlan, Eva, Donald and Marjorie. In 1901 the family was living at Moor Oakes Road, Nether Hallam, Sheffield.
By 1911 the family had moved to 13 Ranmoor Crescent at Sheffield. Lachlan was a boarder student at a College on Willington Road, Repton, Burton on Trent.
His probate was proven at Wakefield on 5th June 1916. His effects of 3140 19 shillings and 4 pence were left to his father Allan Morrison a manager for a wine and spirit merchant.
Second Lieutenant Lachlan Allan Morrison enlisted and served with the 4th battalion South Lancashire he was Killed in Action at Ypres on 6th September 1916, He was buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium Grave Reference: II A 24
His name is also commemorated on the war memorial outside St John's church Ranmoor Sheffield.
