Harold Jacks
Harold Jacks was a solicitor licensed to practise as a solicitor by the Supreme Court 14 October 1913. He took over his father's practice the same year.

Harold was born in 1892 the eldest son of Roberts Jacks a solicitor and Mary Frances Jacks. Robert and Mary had three children Harold, Bertha and Wilfred Grey and lived at 1 Chaloner Terrace Wes, South Shields. By 1911 Harold was living at 3 Law Court Chambers West Chapel Street South Shields.Harold's effects of £612. 17shillings and 3 pence were left to James McHaffie medical practioner and John Soor Tindle solicitor (Probate 21/11/1919 at Durham).
At the outbreak of the First World War he was an officer in 7th Battalion, The Durham Light Infantry; went to France, April 1915, as Assistant Military Landing Officer to the Northumbrian Division; severely wounded at the second battle of Ypres, Belgium; on recovery became Adjutant and Captain to 3/7th Battalion, The Durham Light Infantry; attached to Headquarters Staff, Northern Command, York, August 1915; appointed Staff Captain to the 208th (R ) Infantry Brigade, Doncaster, Yorkshire, November 1916; appointed to the 4th Nigeria Regiment, on active service, c. June 1918; on the staff of the West African Frontier Force; died of septicaemia, Lagos, Nigeria, 27 January 1919. He is buried in Ikoyi no 2 cemetery, Nigeria Grave Reference
